Thousands of companies across America are currently working hard to make sure that they’re not caught flat-footed by the surging wave of cloud services that are rapidly changing how people do business.
As most know by now, “the cloud” has become a catch-all term for a company’s decision to host its data and many of its applications remotely, making use of the savings and technological advantages provided by cutting-edge data centers instead of investing in continual hardware upgrades and training for IT staff.
On the surface, cloud services provide extremely appealing financial economies, backup and recovery benefits and greatly expanded access to important applications for those who happen to work outside of the office. However, the catch for most businesses is that their cloud aspirations don’t match up with their current network infrastructures.
Simply put, the cloud doesn’t work without the network.
