It was a birthday celebration for both Cross River Fiber and its President and CEO Enzo Clemente at the 2012 Telecom Exchange in downtown New York City. During one event interview, Enzo discussed Cross River Fiber’s accomplishments in its first year of business as well as the company’s role in providing critical infrastructure for today’s high broadband demand.
The last year has proved very successful for Cross River Fiber, a New Jersey-based CLEC and boutique dark fiber optic and telecom solutions provider. Over the last year, the company has partnered with carriers, enterprise and financial, healthcare, government and educational entities to build out numerous fiber optic routes, interconnecting data centers and financial exchanges to expand its footprint in the NJ/NY metropolitan area.
In today’s fast-paced economy, especially in the financial services market, the success of your business depends highly
on the speed of your network, turnaround time to market and the ability to make the right decision in a very short amount of time. Much like great skyscrapers are built on an even stronger foundation, great broadband is built on solid fiber infrastructure; today’s economy could not function properly without this critical piece of the puzzle.
“We can never have enough broadband solutions, diversity, ultra-low latency and fiber optic options for our end-users,” Enzo said. “Cross River Fiber prides itself on being a boutique, niche dark fiber provider. Our customers are somewhat unique and intimate with us and we try to be intimate with them.”
Enzo’s description of Cross River Fiber’s suite of services compares to that of a fine dining menu. Much like a Chef has respect for fine ingredients and precise execution, Enzo takes great pride in the company’s own “artful” compositions enhanced by the best “ingredients” available. Except in this case, the ingredients to a successful product don’t include food, just expertise in network build and end-to-end customization.
“Cross River Fiber offers a few different flavors of fiber. The typical interconnection between datacenters, the traditional dark fiber offer, is the à la carte,” Enzo said, “and then there are healthcare providers, needing custom, dark fiber diverse networks and large, fiber counts that are diverse form other carriers. Cross River Fiber applies a consultative approach to taking these clients from full fiber feasibility and open map network design through development and finally completion of construction.”
The company’s one-year anniversary comes on the heels of its recent announcement of expanded fiber infrastructure support to Radio Frequency (RF) wireless communication technologies. According to Enzo, the RF landscape is still an open, evolving canvas that is yet to be full of capacity, and Cross River Fiber is successfully filling that void.
