The software was launched after both organiations signed the global intent-to-deliver agreement in October.
PAN Manager not only provides automated provisioning, disaster recovery services and high availability for both virtual and physical servers, but it also simplifies the management of IT. With all that PAN Manager has to offer, the product has led to improvements in IT service levels for its customers. Vice President of NEC Enterprise Technologies, Mike Mitsch, commented on the product stating, “This solution with advanced failover functionality ensures our customers have a cost-effective, flexible and reliable solution for their mission critical operations.”
The second component of the agreement involves, NEC’s SIGMABLADE. This product provides a foundation for mission-critical enterprise infrastructure and allows for “optimal server consolidation.” Pete Manca, CEO of Egenera is looking forward to this partnership. “We are excited to be partnering with NEC and grow our relationship as we enable customers to leverage the NEC Nblock to build out a rock solid foundation for their clouds.” PAN Manager on NEC SIGMABLADE will include a failover functionality (server staging), enabling a fast failover.
“We strive for continued growth and always satisfying our clients with robust cloud services,” comments Jack Pressman, Managing Director for Cyber Development Group International (CDGI). “Deploying Egenera’s PAN Manager and NEC’s SIGMABLADE can provide our customers with peace of mind in knowing their data is quickly accessible and secure. This in turn may help strengthen our business as a service provider.”
The announcement of Egenera’s flagship software, PAN Manager, on NEC’s SIGMABLADE System in the North American market overall combines two strong and successful products, resulting in one powerful collaboration.
