From its inception, the Open-IX Association (OIX) has been working tirelessly to bring together industry leaders to promote better standards for data center interconnection and Internet Exchanges around the world. Continuing on this mission, OPEN-IX® announced its inaugural Americas Interconnection Summit (AIS), an exclusive three-day conference taking place April 7-9, 2015 at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego, CA.
Americas Interconnection Summit aims to gather the leaders of the Internet community, including Internet service providers, network operators, Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), data center operators and other interested parties, to begin a critical dialogue regarding global peering and interconnection standards. At the conference, members will have the opportunity to discuss critical topics currently affecting the industry while networking with industry veterans and thought-leaders in an open and neutral environment. Through this summit, OIX hopes to bring to the forefront the issues faced by today’s Internet community and enable professionals to work together to find solutions that improve the overall global peering and interconnection landscape.

If you are interested in presenting at the Americas Interconnection Summit, the AIS Program Committee is seeking presentation proposals on relevant topics primarily related to interconnection strategy. This includes, but is not limited to: – Physical layer interconnection – WDM management – IP or Ethernet interconnection – Interconnection automation – Mobile data exchange – Interconnection and peering Internet governance and regulatory topics- Economic and product trends; infrastructure procurement – Cloud interconnection – Peering / interconnection strategy
