DC BLOX, a multi-tenant data center provider delivering the infrastructure and connectivity essential to power today’s digital business, recently announced that it has been chosen by Torch Technologies to deliver colocation, network services and cloud storage in its Huntsville and Birmingham, AL, data centers. Torch Technologies (Torch), one of the nation’s top 100 government contractors with over $1.7 billion in active contracts, provides research, development and engineering services to the Federal Government. The company, headquartered in Huntsville, AL, will deploy client IT infrastructure in DC BLOX’s Huntsville and Birmingham data centers.
DC BLOX is dedicated to building Tier 3 data centers with rich connectivity to serve enterprises, government entities and contractors, education, healthcare and content organizations, as well as managed service providers serving local markets. Leveraging a connection with DC BLOX’s high-speed private network, this partnership ensures business continuity for Torch and its customers in the event of a natural or systemic disaster. DC BLOX will provide a private network connection from Torch’s site in Huntsville, AL, and cloud storage services in both the Huntsville and Birmingham locations will provide Torch Technologies with redundant off-site data storage.
“Torch Technologies has been interested in moving our IT infrastructure into a more secure and reliable location for years, but access to Tier 3 data centers in our area is very limited,” stated John Watson, President and CEO of Torch Technologies. “DC BLOX impressed us with the quality of their facilities and their plans to build connected data centers across the Southeast.”
