The keynote panel, How are DC projects being funded?, will feature industry leaders discussing the financial structures behind next-generation data center development. The conversation will cover how AI and hyperscale facilities are financed, including long-term contracts, evolving investment models and expected returns. Panelists will also examine the structure of offtake agreements for emerging “neocloud” providers and how large-scale infrastructure projects are funded.
Hernandez will bring perspective to the conversation by drawing on his experience at PowerBridge developing and financing large-scale powered campuses that integrate power generation, electrical infrastructure and fiber connectivity to support hyperscale and AI demand. As the former CEO of Cumulus Data, which developed the first hyperscale data center platform directly connected to carbon-free nuclear power, he brings a unique viewpoint on navigating the convergence of energy and digital infrastructure.
