Capacity prices in Asia vary widely—a 10 Gbps wave connecting Jakarta and Singapore currently costs 10 times more than a 10 Gbps wave between Singapore and Hong Kong. Prices are also falling rapidly—median 10 Gbps prices throughout the region decreased 32 percent in the past year.
While bandwidth demand within Asia is forecast to grow 40 percent compounded annually through 2021, revenues are projected to increase by only four percent compounded annually over the same period.
