The New York State Office of General Services (NYS OGS) provides essential services to the state, its local partners and the general public. Among these services, the New York State OGS manages and leases real property, designs and builds facilities, contracts for technology services, and provides government and nonprofit agencies with innovative solutions in support of cost-effective operations and responsible public stewardship.

Just recently, Webair was awarded an Information Technology Umbrella Manufacturer Based contract by the NYS OGS. The contract with the Cloud and fully managed infrastructure service provider certifies that Webair is a vetted and state-approved IT vendor. It also simplifies services procurement for New York State authorized users by significantly reducing the length of the bidding processes.

“As a privately-owned, New York-based organization, Webair is continually seeking new opportunities to enhance our community’s IT landscape with fully-managed infrastructure services delivered privately, ensuring the lowest possible latency and sovereignty for all state-funded organizations,” commented Michael Christopher Orza, CEO, Webair.  “Through this OGS contract, we are providing these government agencies and organizations with the ability to support digital transformation via customized and flexible hybrid cloud configurations, including the ability to house data locally and securely, untethered from the public internet, and eliminating the need to store sensitive information hundreds, or even thousands of miles away. We are excited to offer state-funded organizations an even simpler way to procure a wide range of services and look forward to working hand-in-hand with our channel partners to ensure customer satisfaction.”

Hospitals, universities and cultural centers are among the state-funded organizations that Webair already currently serves. In fact, the company has received multiple tax rebates and other incentives from the New York government to help ensure low energy costs for its customers. Webair announced its acceptance into the New York Empire State Development (ESD) program last year and was the recipient of an allocated 1 MW of low-cost hydropower from New York Power Authority’s (NYPA’s) ReCharge NY program.

As a result of the Information Technology Umbrella Manufacturer Based contract, New York State authorized users can now expedite the procurement process of Webair’s services. Additionally, Webair channel partners now can resell Webair services to NYS authorized users leveraging the OGS umbrella contract. For channel partners with New York State, Local and Education (SLED) government agency customers and prospects, the new contract will accelerate service delivery and enhance their ability to provide cost-effective solutions from Webair’s deep portfolio of infrastructure and service offerings. To earn the OGS contract, the company completed a year-long audit that confirmed its ability to provide high-quality services compliant with state regulations.

In addition to its New York data center on Long Island, Webair maintains facilities in Los Angeles, Montréal, Amsterdam, and the Asia-Pacific. Via the OGS contract, Webair’s complete portfolio of services will be available, including public, private and hybrid cloud hosting and managed services, colocation, Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS), Offsite Backups-as-a-Service (BaaS), and full-stack management of critical applications. Webair also provides fully-managed hybrid cloud orchestration, offering direct access to its own private clouds as well as public clouds including AWS and Azure. While providing end-to-end service assurance to end-users, this also allows customers to architect optimal cloud platforms on a per workload basis according to their individual requirements of security, performance, latency and cost.
