AMS-IX United StatesAMS-IX USA Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), recently partnered with Telx® to open a new AMS-IX Bay Area Point of Presence (PoP) within Telx’s SFR1 data center in San Francisco.   The partnership provides connected parties on the AMS-IX platform with additional reliable, fast, and cost-effective peering opportunities.  The services will also be available to existing customers located in other data center facilities.  In addition to bringing even more value to the interconnection market in the San Francisco / Silicon Valley, the partnership will also attract more customers, stimulate job growth and drive further innovation in the area.

Customers of AMS-IX Bay Area PoP will be able to locate and/or expand their equipment in SFR1, the secure, network-rich interconnection facility owned and maintained by Telx.  Telx manages 1.3 million square feet of data center space and more than 50,000 network connections, enabling the interconnection of more than 10 million square feet of data center space globally.  Complete with ample colocation space, state-of-the-art design, industry-leading 100 percent uptime and 100 percent on-time service delivery SLAs, Telx’s SFR1 provides an ideal environment for AMS-IX to expand its AMS-IX Bay Area platform, promote its neutral and distributed Internet exchange model and grow its community.

Providing access to dozens of leading domestic and international carriers and physical connection points to global telecommunications networks and backbones, SFR1 is considered one of the premier data center and carrier facilities in Northern California.  The facility also provides redundancy and diversity to AMS-IX Bay Area from its existing PoPs.  Furthermore, the data center is seismically rated for protection against NorCal earthquakes.
