Chief Executive Officer Greg Varisco to Discuss Transatlantic Subsea Cable AEConnect and the Future of Subsea Cable Network Design

Aqua CommsDUBLIN – October 6, 2016 — Aqua Comms Limited (“Aqua Comms”), a provider of scalable, subsea capacity-based network solutions, announces today that its Chief Executive Officer, Greg Varisco, will present at Submarine Networks World 2016, taking place 17-19 October at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Center.

Mr. Varisco will first represent Aqua Comms’ America-Europe Connect (AEConnect), the next-generation transatlantic subsea cable connecting New York to London via Dublin and beyond to greater Europe, at the conference’s Cable Projects Poster Session taking place 17 October at 13:00.  Later that day, at 15:30, he will lead the Project Developers Roundtable at Table 2.  Then on 18 October, at 09:15, Mr. Varisco will participate on the Keynote Network Design Panel, “Planning for Your Network’s Long-Term Future, Today.”  The session will explore how meshed solutions affect subsea cable operators’ approach to network design, the future-proofing of cable systems with next-generation technologies, and the inherent challenges to achieving an open cable/open network ecosystem, among other topics.

“Coinciding with the announcement of a significant technical milestone concerning transatlantic subsea cable AEConnect, Aqua Comms is excited to attend Submarine Networks World 2016 and share our perspective on the innovative technologies and advanced network design elements that are shaping the future of subsea connectivity,” states Mr. Varisco.  “AEConnect is not only a new transatlantic cable design, but also a new way of incorporating subsea into today’s networks – data centre to data centre, instead of Cable Landing Station to Cable Landing Station – so the event provides a great platform to showcase the system’s abilities to carriers and other cable operators that wish to expand their capacity and global reach.”

Now in its 19th year, Submarine Networks World is the only annual platform where the global subsea communications industry gathers to exchange knowledge, present new and upgraded cable projects, strategise and partner.  The event, whose theme this year is “Global Connectivity’s Next Frontier,” is attended by a broad spectrum of carriers, subsea network operators, cable and optical equipment providers, data centres and Content Delivery Networks, governmental and telecom infrastructure regulators, and consultants and investors.
