Bluebird Network, a high-capacity fiber internet and transport services provider and underground data center owner, recently announced its plans to strengthen its fiber backbone in Columbia, MO, with one of the single largest fiber build outs in the city’s history. This densification project will bring approximately 60 miles of additional fiber to Bluebird’s existing infrastructure in Columbia, and it will allow local businesses to benefit from virtually all-encompassing reach of the area. Furthermore, this network densification will nurture and empower the city’s 5G capabilities by delivering added support for new and existing cell towers throughout the region.

In addition to supporting wireless carriers’ new tower deployments, Bluebird’s increased fiber count will bolster its fiber offerings in and around Columbia, enabling businesses in the area to meet growing demand with higher bandwidth service options. As organizations continue to incorporate increasingly digital means to suit the digital world, bandwidth and connectivity must be improved and expanded to ensure digital transformation can be successful. As a result, Bluebird has seen a number of requests for higher bandwidth from customers in the region across verticals like healthcare, finance and education. This build ensures Bluebird can meet these ever-growing requirements easily and effectively.

“Our wireless customers—the largest cell service providers in the nation—trusted us for their large-scale 5G wireless deployment,” says Michael Morey, President and CEO of Bluebird Network. “They chose us because when Bluebird makes a promise, we deliver. We not only meet expectations, we exceed them. Our customer care and employee work ethic has resulted in Bluebird’s successful growth, and builds like this demonstrate we don’t plan to stop our trajectory any time soon.”
