For those in the business of providing connectivity, all roads run through Dallas. That’s because Dallas has long served as the hub of connectivity for the Southern U.S., especially for organizations with bandwidth-intensive applications seeking linkage to communication systems domestically and globally.

Just recently, Infomart Data Centers announced a new partnership with Hurricane Electric, a world-leading IP-v6-native Internet backbone, for a new Point of Presence (PoP) in its Infomart Dallas carrier-neutral Building Meet-Me Room (BMMR). Now, clients of Infomart Dallas can access Hurricane Electric without having to pay extra for cross-connect fees, only an industry-standard set-up fee.

Launched in 2015, the Infomart Dallas BMMR is home to multiple carriers including Hurricane Electric, Level 3 Communications, Verizon, Unite Private Networks, InnerCity FiberNet, WireStar Networks, Cogent Communications, Fibernet Direct, ServedBy the Net, DE-CIX Dallas and more. The BMMR offers solutions from ranging single-rack to whole suites.

“Hurricane Electric is excited to partner with Infomart Data Centers,” explained Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric. “This partnership will provide increased bandwidth and global network connectivity options for customers in Infomart Dallas.”

Hurricane Electric runs its own global IPv4 and IPv6 network, and the company is considered to have the largest IPv6 backbone in the world based on its number of connected networks. Within its global network, Hurricane Electric is now connected to more than 160 leading exchange points. The company exchanges traffic directly with more than 6,500 different networks. Hurricane Electric, in fact, recently became the first company to connect to 4,000 IPv6 networks.  Its impressive connectivity footprint can be traced to its strategy of expanding to more countries and cities in order to provide existing customers with direct routes.

“In keeping with our commitment to providing industry-leading connectivity options for our clients, we are pleased to welcome Hurricane Electric to the Infomart Dallas BMMR,” stated John Sheputis, President of Infomart Data Centers.  “As one of the most connected buildings in the U.S., Infomart Dallas is the optimal location in the southeast region for linking to communication systems nationally and globally, especially for companies with latency-sensitive applications or that are deploying hybrid cloud.”

Connecting through Infomart Dallas’ BMMR provides clients with the fastest path to international and domestic network, content, cloud and Internet Service Providers (ISPs). It also enables connections between more than 75 network carriers and all colocation customers located inside of the building. The largest data center in Texas and the ultimate data center ecosystem, the facility is home to numerous retail colocation providers, as well as Infomart-operated wholesale colocation space developed in the carrier hotel for enterprise users with edge connectivity requirements.
