At the traditional international conference, the IT Business & Trade Summit, CEOs and IT specialists will be welcomed to Vilnius Tech Park on 6 of October. This year, the conference will focus on building bridges between countries.

“Business contacts are one of the most important aspects of expanding a business into foreign countries. Undoubtedly, the IT infrastructure and data centre ecosystems in the Netherlands wouldn’t have developed into one of the most advanced in the world without expanding our connections. Our goal is to promote Lithuania’s connections with the Netherlands and to establish mutual cooperation in developing the most innovative IT solutions,” said Bert van der Lingen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Lithuania and a guest of honour at the conference.

According to Donatas Zaveckas, CEO of the IT company BTT Group that is organizing the event, the much greater number of participants this year shows that there is an increase in the demand for such events in Lithuania.

“The Lithuanian data centre business field is still in its embryo stage. Unfortunately, the long-awaited breakthrough has never happened. Our companies have so much potential, and so much enthusiasm to develop this business, so I believe that the initiative by BTT Group will liven up this sector, if only just a little bit. We really want to bring foreign companies into Lithuania and to promote cooperation. Since almost a third of all European data centres are based around Amsterdam, when we were looking for inspiration we turned first and foremost to the Netherlands,” said Zaveckas.

CEOs, entrepreneurs, IT managers, and experts from Lithuania, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and Belarus will be among the participants. During the conference, the guests will be presented with the latest news concerning cloud computing, data management and the IT business, and they will have the opportunity to establish valuable connections to support their business expansion abroad.

Along with other speakers, Bertil Brendeke, CEO of the German cloud computing and digital innovation festival WorldHostingDays, will share his insights about global data hosting trends. Jevgenij Shuklin, Vice-Champion of the 2012 Summer Olympics, will present the idea of a data centre in the Visaginas nuclear power plant; and Mark Karsch, a Dutch guru in the selling and marketing of IT products, will talk about his tips and tricks for selling IT security solutions.

On the second day, the participants will travel to Minsk (Belarus) where they will be introduced to representatives of the Imaguru Startup Hub start-ups and their projects, will play a friendly football match with fellow Belarusian IT specialists, and in the evening, they will go to the Borisov Arena to watch a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier – a match between the Netherlands and Belarus.
