NANOG61From meager beginnings as a communications framework for the US government in the 1960s to the modern proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT) – which denotes advanced connectivity of devices, systems and services – the network of networks, better known as the Internet, has experienced drastic change and exponential growth – especially over the last 20 years.

With each passing technical innovation, network operators and affiliated companies have found ways to provide top of the line service to meet consumers’ growing demand for connectivity. The North American Network Operator Group (NANOG) has played an integral role in enabling them to do so through education, dissemination of information and encouraging collaboration on the technologies and systems that make the Internet function. This year, NANOG looks to celebrate its rich history at its 20th year commemorative meeting, NANOG 61, set to take place June 2-4, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue in Bellevue, WA.

NANOG 61 will be hosted by Diamond Sponsor NTT Communications. Verisign and Google will also serve as Diamond Sponsors, alongside Platinum Sponsors Netflix and Verizon Terremark,  as well as Gold Sponsor Comcast and a number of additional event sponsors. Their contributions will provide for the hundreds of network engineers and product professionals from North America’s leading carriers, content, providers, cloud companies, multi-tenant data centers and many more set to attend.  Featuring engaging presentations, track discussions, tutorials and lightning talks that focus on power and facilities, interconnection, security, Domain Name System (DNS), IPv6, content, disaster recovery, Internet policies, global peering, and more, NANOG 61 will continue the tradition of learning and networking that has become synonymous with NANOG meetings.  The agenda is selected by NANOG’s esteemed Program Committee.

Prior to its 20th year meeting, NANOG will host its ‘On the Road’ event, taking place in Los Angeles on May 20, 2014, as well as its Education Series workshop on June 1, 2014, in Bellevue, WA.
