As the first Executive Director, Board Appointed Randy Epstein is set to lead Community IX, southeast’s leading non profit Internet Exchange (IX). Epstein will have “full oversight of the organization with responsibility for IX’s in Atlanta, GA (CIX-ATL) and Miami, Florida (FL-IX), with operational, technical and administrative responsibilities of the volunteer-led organization.

Randy Epstein is a co-founder of Community IX and has consistently volunteered at the organization since its formation in 2015. ”It’s important that we formalize our structure with a full-time leader who can help take us to the next level,” commented Dave Temkin, co-founder, Chair and Corporate Treasurer of Community IX. As Community IX continues to grow operations with more networks adopting peering as a go-to interconnection solution, Community IX believes that it’s more important than ever to help companies achieve improved internet performance and lower costs.

As a non profit organization, Epstein’s role abides by the company’s bylaws which requires annual elections to appoint Board roles. In addition to oversight of the bylaws, Epstein will liaise with vendors, oversee all financial obligations of the organization, all the while ensuring optimal infrastructure performance across its highly distributed IX’s in Atlanta and Miami.
