Businesses today are facing an uphill battle in the fight against cybercrime, as threats are increasing in both volume and complexity year over year. Gartner predicts that by 2020, 60 percent of digital companies will suffer major service failures due to an inability to properly manage risk.

As the threat landscape continues to intensify, data center providers will need to evolve to offer more cybersecurity solutions for businesses. In fact, this trend is already starting to occur. Webair, for instance, a high-touch, agile cloud and fully-managed service provider, recently announced a groundbreaking partnership with global managed security services provider Oxford Solutions that will grant businesses easy access to advanced cybersecurity offerings as well as a 24/7 security operations center in Webair’s NY1 data center.

With the new partnership, Webair customers will benefit from around-the-clock network monitoring and embedded onsite, as opposed to Web-based, cybersecurity solutions within NY1. Additional benefits include protocol analysis, a powerful analysis engine and real-time threat information. Plus, Oxford will monitor Webair’s network cloud infrastructure.

What’s more, Webair will also provide customers with the option to utilize expert cyber analysts for the real-time identification and investigation of unique threats. A real-time intelligence helpdesk will be provided along with data analytics for anomalous activity, intrusion threat detection at gigabit speeds, actionable, tailored intelligence and access to Oxford’s Aegis Platform.

These services will all be offered alongside Webair’s existing managed security services (MSS), such as managed firewalls and layered distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation and monitoring.

“As Long Island’s most secure, fully-redundant data center, our flagship NY1 facility is dedicated to providing best-in-class security that our customers can rely upon,” said Michael Christopher Orza, CEO of Webair.  “By partnering with an expert MSSP and building a SOC on-premises at the data center, we can offer our customers an even greater level of cybersecurity and 24/7 network monitoring from the inside, out.”

Aidan Kehoe, Co-Founder and CEO of Oxford Solutions, also commented on the new partnership.

“At Oxford Solutions, it is our mission to bring enterprise-grade cybersecurity and proactive intelligence to businesses of all sizes to reduce the risk and impact of security breaches and cyber-attacks,” Kehoe stated. “We are very excited to partner with Webair to provide our next-level services within their NY1 facility, delivering to customers an additional layer of protection for their most sensitive data.”

Webair is one of just a handful of data centers in the U.S. to partner with a third-party MSS provider, and NY1 is the only data center east of Manhattan to meet the stringent requirements for OPEN-IX certification. In fact, NY1 is the only OIX-certified U.S data center in the region that offers access to Manhattan bypass fiber and transatlantic cable. NY1 is a Tier III-rated facility, is HIPAA-compliant and holds SAS SSAE 16 certification.
