DC BLOX is planning the expansion of its Myrtle Beach Cable Landing Station (CLS). The Atlanta-based digital infrastructure company recently acquired 20 acres in the Myrtle Beach International Technology and Aerospace Park to construct the future campus pending additional demand, which would accommodate up to five additional subsea cables and deliver an extra 20MW of power capacity from the on-site substation. This location leverages a strategic coastal setting ideal for subsea system entry points and further positions the campus as a hub for intercontinental communication. When completed, the twin facilities (MYR1 and MYR2) would support as many as ten subsea systems, strengthening global data links between the U.S. and international markets.

The original Myrtle Beach CLS (MYR1), launched in 2023, serves as one of the largest facilities of its kind on the east coast. It hosts high-profile cables such as Firmina, Anjana, and Nuvem, offering direct connectivity to an expanding ecosystem of hyperscaler, carrier, and enterprise partners. The site’s hurricane wind-rated facilities, 19MW of power capacity, and strategic location enable diverse routing options along the Eastern Seaboard, an increasingly valuable asset given the region’s data growth and resiliency needs.
