DC BLOX has been committed to growing the company and enhancing value across the Southeast. With Melih Ileri as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets and Strategy, he will lead DC BLOX efforts for securing new debt and equity investments along with driving financial strategies and partnerships. Melih has an impressive track record, prior to DC BLOX he spent 10 years in Corporate Development at EdgeConneX. Through his tenure, he helped build and finance over 40 data centers in 33 markets across the word deploying several billion dollars in capital globally.

DC BLOX recently announced the build of a new Cable Landing Station (CLS) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina along with the acquisition of Light Source Communications. The new CLS will anchor subsea cable systems connecting North America’s Southeast region with other continents. DC BLOX plans for its new CLS to be completed in the second quarter of 2023.  The acquisition of Light Source Communications positions DC BLOX as a premier vertically integrated digital infrastructure, data center and connectivity provider in the Southeastern United States. As part of the dark fiber transaction, Light Source’s co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Debra Freitas, and co-founder, President and Chief Operating Officer Pete Empie, joined DC BLOX and will be responsible for continuing to drive the development of new fiber network infrastructure to support the company’s customers and facilities.

This positions DC BLOX as a premier vertically integrated digital infrastructure, data center and connectivity provider in the Southeastern United States. DC BLOX has also expanded both data centers in Greenville and Birmingham. The need for these expansions is due to the growing demand for secure and reliable data center services across the DC BLOX markets. Melih will be able to assist in the growing demand throughout the Southeast and explore future funding opportunities.
