COO Jarrett Appleby and CTO Chris Sharp to Present at PTC’16: Reimagining Telecoms
San Francisco, CA, January 14, 2016 – Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: DLR), a leading global provider of data center solutions, announced today that its Chief Operating Officer, Jarrett Appleby, and Chief Technology Officer, Chris Sharp, will participate on two panels during PTC’16: Reimagining Telecoms, taking place January 17-20, 2016 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu, Hawaii. The presentations will provide executive insight into the network infrastructure evolution, public to private data center transition and what next- generation telecoms will mean for today’s businesses.
On Monday, January 18 at 3:30 PM, Mr. Sharp will join moderator Joe Weinman, Author of Cloudonomics and Digital Disciplines, and representatives from Cisco, PortaOne, Inc., The University of Tokyo and Verizon Partner Solutions during the Executive Insight Roundtable: “Do Networks Really Need to Change for the Internet of Things?”, taking place in Coral 1. The session will explore the need for a new network infrastructure to address the bandwidth-intensive demands of the Internet of Things (IoT).
Mr. Appleby, alongside moderator Anthony Christie, Chief Marking Officer at Level 3 Communications, and representatives from DataGryd, Internet Initiative Japan, Inc. and Equinix will discuss the trend of data centers shifting from a public to a private management strategy on the Executive Insight Roundtable: “The Shifting Data Center.” The discussion will take place Tuesday, January 19 at 3:30 PM in Coral 2, and will discuss how operators across the globe are making this transition to maximize efficiency and meet individual customer solution requirements such as hybrid IT / cloud, mobile and social deployments.
