Region 16 Education Service Center (ESC) and Duos Edge AI, Inc., a subsidiary of Duos Technologies Group, have partnered to bring unprecedented opportunity to the Texas Panhandle through the launch of a groundbreaking Edge Data Center (EDC) facility in Amarillo. The first of its kind in Texas, this state-of-the-art EDC promises to bridge the digital divide and usher in a new era of connectivity.
The new EDC is set to transform the educational and economic landscape of the region by providing stable, high-speed internet connectivity and scalable IT resources. This leap in technology will empower students across 60 Texas Panhandle public schools with access to cutting-edge educational tools, leveling the playing field with their urban counterparts. In addition, the enhanced connectivity in the area is poised to serve as a catalyst for economic growth, by supporting local businesses and potentially attracting new enterprises to the area.
A launch event to celebrate the new technological hub has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Region 16 ESC’s Bell Street location in Amarillo. The event will showcase the EDC’s innovative capabilities while giving attendees a firsthand look at the facility. Industry leaders, government officials, and representatives from the Autonomy Institute will be present, showing the significance of the project and the impact it is expected to have on the region.
