The market is seeing rising demand for dynamic and secure content delivery, driving the need for more network capacity and reliable fiber connectivity. To answer this growing market requirement and continue its mission of optimizing delivery of data at the edge of the network, EdgeConneX recently announced a partnership with international bandwidth infrastructure provider Zayo to ensure faster transportation of bandwidth-intensive content.
The deal involves building diverse entrances into six Edge Data Centers® and providing diverse entrances to two additional facilities, delivering dark fiber, wavelength and IP services for customers. Zayo fiber will now be available in 10 EdgeConneX facilities: Houston, Phoenix, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Memphis, Nashville, Portland, Richmond, Salt Lake City and San Diego. EdgeConneX’s facilities are strategically positioned nearest to network provider aggregation points, ensuring the lowest latency data delivery with improved quality of service. Customers in each of these Edge Data Centers can also leverage Tranzact, Zayo’s innovative shopping platform, to access pricing and place connectivity orders.
A mutually beneficial partnership, the agreement will provide EdgeConneX customers access to extensive dark fiber and layer 3 connectivity through wavelengths, Ethernet and IP services within the Edge Data Center, while simultaneously offering Zayo customers the ability to connect to a common carrier interconnect facility within multiple markets.
Zayo’s deep fiber-optic footprint and extensive interconnections to major eyeball networks across the globe have made it the ideal partner choice for EdgeConneX. The Company’s fiber-optic network extends more than 81,500 route miles across the U.S. and Europe, and connects to more than 16,000 on-net buildings.
