STEUBEN COUNTY, NEW YORK – May 18, 2026 – Empire Fiber Internet recently welcomed local officials and community partners to its headquarters in Prattsburgh to celebrate the completion of its latest fiber expansion in Steuben County, made possible through a partnership with the County and funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

The project connects more than 2,000 homes across Avoca, Birdseye Hollow, Caton, Hornby, Howard, and Savona, building on Empire’s existing network serving over 30,000 homes throughout Steuben County.

Representatives from local schools and career development organizations attended, highlighting the critical role reliable internet access plays in supporting education, career exploration, and future workforce opportunities.

“Expanding fiber internet access is about more than connectivity, it’s about creating opportunity,” said Jill Fritz, Chief Customer Officer at Empire Fiber Internet. “Through our continued partnership with Steuben County, we’re proud to deliver the infrastructure communities need today while helping support the students and residents who will shape tomorrow.”
