Cork Internet eXchange and Future-Tech Join Host in Ireland and Contribute Members to its Executive Committee

Host in IrelandDUBLIN, IRELAND – January 26, 2016 Host in Ireland, a strategic global initiative created to increase awareness of the benefits of hosting digital assets in Ireland, today announces the addition of two new partners for 2016.  Cork Internet eXchange (CIX), the major connectivity centre for the south west of Ireland, and Future-Tech, a data centre professional services provider based in West Berkshire, United Kingdom, have joined the organization, which has retained 15 partners from last year.  With the addition of these new partners, Host in Ireland also gains two new Executive Committee members, James Wilman, CEO at Future-Tech, and Jerry Sweeney, Managing Director at Cork Internet eXchange.

“Mr. Wilman and Mr. Sweeney each bring vast amounts of experience and knowledge to the Executive Committee that will advance our organizational goals significantly,” states Garry Connolly, Founder and President of Host in Ireland.  “The benefits of hosting digital assets in Ireland are represented by the 5 Ps — Policy, People, Pedigree, Pipes, and Power — and with the addition of industry leaders of Mr. Wilman’s and Mr. Sweeney’s caliber to our initiative, Host in Ireland demonstrates that people are the master key to educating the global market about the advantages of our hosting ecosystem.”

Ireland’s economy continues to welcome technology as companies including Facebook, Google and Apple have built their global headquarters and data centres here to take advantage of Ireland’s favorable business and hosting environment.  Companies of all sizes and in every industry are hosting their data in Ireland for reasons of affordable power, redundant network and bandwidth capacity, in addition to the fiscal advantages afforded by the country’s business and public policy initiatives.

“For the past six years, Future-Tech has provided data centre design and project management services for our Ireland-based clients, and we have recently been expanding in the region,” states Mr. Wilman.  “Having experienced firsthand the innumerable benefits of doing business here, I am thrilled to join Host in Ireland in the furtherance of their mission as a member of their Executive Committee.”

Founded in 2013, Host in Ireland has headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, and satellite offices in New York.  Although many of the organization’s partners are competitors, they come together as a collective to provide global companies with timely and accurate information concerning why Ireland provides the services and business environment to meet their digital hosting requirements.

“CIX has followed Host in Ireland’s successes over the past several years and is delighted to be joining as partnering organization for 2016,” Mr. Sweeney comments.  “It’s an honor to be named to the Executive Committee and I look forward to contributing my knowledge and experience to the mission of driving Ireland’s digital economy.”

About Host in Ireland

Host in Ireland is an industry-led marketing initiative that provides timely and accurate information on Ireland’s digital asset hosting ecosystem at all times, including demonstrating why Ireland is more cost-effective, efficient, reliable, secure and accessible than most other regions across the EU.  There’s a reason companies like Microsoft, Zendesk, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Adobe and beyond have sought to host their solutions in as well as to/from Ireland.  Many of these reasons are immediately realized due to access to affordable power, redundant network and bandwidth capacity along with a variety of data center providers that offer an array of services sustained by the 5 Ps: Policy, People, Pedigree, Pipes, and Power.  On top of that is a very attractive business management structure, implemented by Ireland, which is keenly interested to bring new businesses into the market.  Ireland supports this initiative through attractive fiscal structures, access to a skilled workforce and full support of the U.S. Safe Harbor and Patriot Acts – ensuring data asset compliance for companies large and small.  For more information about Host in Ireland, visit www.hostinireland.com.
