The leading lights of the European hosting and cloud industry will shine at HostingCon Europe 2015, scheduled September 22-23 at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam. Attendees will learn about innovative product and service offerings, while interfacing with C-Level decision-makers and influencers who potentially could open up new market opportunities and introduce game-changing perspectives on their business.
Bookended by Pearse O’Donohue, the recently appointed Head of Unit for Software & Services, Cloud Computing in the European Commission (DG CONNECT), who will give the opening keynote address, and David Ednie, President and CEO of SalesChannel Europe, who will deliver the closing keynote, HostingCon Europe 2015 features a speaking roster of industry visionaries and thought-leaders who will lend their unique perspectives on web hosting, cloud and managed services, hardware / software, application services, data center and colocation system integration, and value-added reselling.
Day One, Tuesday, begins with a panel session titled, “Cybersecurity Trends and Considerations in the EU,” whose participants will include Alex de Joode, Senior Advisor, Policy and Public Affairs at ICT Netherlands and a Board Advisor to AMS-IX on legal matters, and Lennert den Teuling, CEO of PCextreme and Secretary at ISPconnect.
Immediately following, Chris Sheridan, Business Development, at Chicago-based Weebly, will moderate a panel, “New Ways of Driving Growth and Revenue in a Reseller Channel Business,” before making way for O’Donohue’s keynote.
On Wednesday, Day Two, the buck will stop with Hillary Stiff of Cheval Capital, an investment banker that has completed over 275 hosting, ISP and related transactions, when she moderates “Valuation: What is Your Hosting Company Worth and How to Improve It.” The panel will walk business owners through the major valuation methods and discuss the types of programs successful European web hosting providers have employed to increase the value of their companies.
Other must-attend presentations on Day Two include “The Dawn of Containers: What Do Hosting Companies Need to Do to Be Ready?” given by William Bell, Vice President of Product Development at Phoenix NAP, a global IT services provider, and “Domains and Hosting Aren’t Enough: Adding Ecommerce Solutions to Boost Business,” with Wilfried Beeck, CEO of ePages, one of the world’s leading cloud-based e-Commerce solution providers.
Also on Day Two, David Snead, a Washington, DC-based attorney who specializes in tactical legal counsel for global Internet firms, will give a presentation titled, “Global Legal Strategy and Considerations for a Growing Cloud and Hosting Business.” Snead will explore how to structure business operations to take advantage of the global market for hosting services, including which parts of a contract can be standard for all markets, which must be customized for Europe and the United States, and how to comply with both European and US privacy regulations.
