Bluebird Network, a trailblazing communications infrastructure provider, announced that Michael Morey will be handing over the reins as CEO to Jason W. Adkins as its new Chief Executive Officer. Adkins brings an impressive 29 years of leadership and management experience in the dynamic telecom industry, and will officially take the helm on March 18.
Adkins, a seasoned veteran in the telecommunications and fiber industry, most recently served as the CEO of Unite Private Networks until its recent acquisition by Cox Communications. His extensive career boasts influential stints with industry giants like Windstream, Kentucky Data Link, Inc. (KDL), Level 3 Communications, TelCove, Conterra Networks, and KMC Telecom. Adkins holds a BBA in Marketing with a minor in Economics from James Madison and an MBA from Radford University.
Adkins expressed he is incredibly excited to be given the opportunity to lead the talented and dedicated employees of Bluebird Network. The transition also marks the departure of the current CEO, Michael Morey, a 12-year veteran of Bluebird with over 40 years of telecom experience. Morey will gracefully step down from his role in March after aiding Adkins in a seamless transition.
“To say I have enjoyed my 12 years here at Bluebird would be an understatement,” Morey said. “The growth of our company’s network and the doubling and tripling of our revenues over my tenure are high-water marks for any individual in leadership, but I am most proud of the employees I’ve had the honor to lead over this period. I can rest assured Bluebird will be given every opportunity to succeed under its new leadership,” he said. “Jason is just the right person to continue the growth at Bluebird Network.”
