IT Infrastructure service provider, New Continuum Holdings Corporation, operator of New Continuum Data Centers (New Continuum), has recently announced the successful acquisition of their flagship mission-critical data center in West Chicago, Illinois. The facility was originally purpose-built as a data center by the previous owner and is located at 603 Discovery Drive. New Continuum officially acquired the facility in late December. Post Road Group, a leading real estate bridge lender and investor in U.S. middle-market telecommunications infrastructure, supported the transaction by providing senior debt financing.

New Continuum began leasing 603 Discovery Drive in the fall of 2013 when it commenced construction on the property’s redevelopment project. As the business developed, New Continuum began operating a multi-tenant data center on the site in 2015 as the initial construction was completed, followed by the addition of incremental cooling capacity in 2018. The rich infrastructure of the existing purpose-built facility has helped establish the company as a leader in innovation and adoption of new technologies in multi-tenant data center services. The facility boasts customizable racks, dynamic cooling, private cages and suites and adheres to the highest standards of security and compliance to provide customers with scalable and reliable data center solutions.

“This acquisition stands as the achievement of a major goal for New Continuum,” states Eli D. Scher, founder, Chairman and CEO of New Continuum, “From the time we launched this re-development project, we worked towards the goal of eventually owning the underlying real estate asset. Now that this milestone is complete, we’re excited to begin a new phase of success as owner and operator of this critical West Chicago facility.”

In addition to adding upgrades to the physical plant, New Continuum has been focusing on recruiting world-class engineers to support the facility and constructing next-generation connectivity services to support customers. On a broader scope, the company has been engaging in community-wide efforts to support customer endeavors and activities. The flagship data center is Open-IX certified and New Continuum is a member of the Open19 Foundation as well as the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance.
