Earlier this month, the Nomad Futurist Foundation proudly partnered with Flexential to host a special behind-the-scenes tour of their Portland Hillsboro 3 Data Center, welcoming staff from Portland Community College (PCC) and the Education Service District for an immersive experience inside one of the region’s premier digital infrastructure facilities.
The tour offered a rare, firsthand look at the critical technology that powers our digital world, and more importantly, highlighted the wide array of career pathways available to students in the data center ecosystem.
Representing the Foundation on-site was Jake Curtachio, PR & Media Relations Manager at iMiller Public Relations (iMPR) and a trusted Nomad Futurist partner. Jake guided attendees through the inner workings of a modern data center, pulling back the curtain on what lies “behind the walls:” rows of high-performance servers, intricate networking systems, robust cooling infrastructure, and backup power solutions that ensure 24/7 uptime.
