Ireland is now working to aggressively utilize its renewable energy resources, as the country is making strides towards a future of clean and affordable power options. There’s also a mandate to generate 40 percent of Ireland’s electrical energy from renewables by 2020. As ‘Ireland’s Data Hosting Industry 2017’ report explained, collaboration between data center operators, renewable energy developers, and state utilities and agencies will be imperative for maintaining Ireland’s position as a global, Tier 1 location for digital hosting moving forward.
One organization that can undoubtedly advise on the challenge of energy efficiency in the data hosting sector is EnerNOC, which just recently became a strategic partner of Host in Ireland for 2018.
