Portland, OR – Sept. 29, 2026 – ZincFive®, the world leader in nickel-zinc (NiZn) battery-based solutions for immediate power applications, today announced that Dan Lambert, Senior Energy Storage Standards Specialist, will participate in a session during the AI Open Data Center track at the 2026 OCP Global Summit.
The session, “The New Focus on Energy Storage Systems Safety,” will provide an update on industry efforts to develop consensus best-practice guidelines for safety regulations applying to energy storage systems (ESS) installed in data centers globally. The discussion will include perspectives and contributions from hyperscalers, ESS manufacturers, standards development organizations, liability insurance carriers and other industry stakeholders.
Attendees will also hear about the published white paper, “Requirements for Energy Storage Systems Used in Data Centers,” along with progress on the Energy Storage Solutions Subproject, its developing workstreams and opportunities for industry participation.
Lambert will contribute his perspective on ESS safety and standards development for data center applications. As ZincFive’s Senior Energy Storage Standards Specialist, he brings experience in energy storage technology, safety, and standards development to the industry effort to advance safety best practices for energy storage systems used in data centers.
