Chief Operations Officer Greg Varisco to Discuss Next-Generation Transatlantic Subsea Fiber Optic Systems, Including AEConnect
DUBLIN, IRELAND — September 1, 2015 — Aqua Comms Limited (AquaComms), a provider of scalable, subsea capacity-based network solutions, announces today that its Chief Operations Officer, Greg Varisco, will give a presentation at Submarine Networks World 2015, taking place at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Center. Mr. Varisco will present at the conference’s Global Cable Project Showcase on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 14:50, followed by moderating the Project Developer Roundtable at Table 3 at 15:40.
Mr. Varisco will speak on the subject of next-generation subsea fiber optic transatlantic cables, including AquaComms’ America Europe Connect (AEConnect), which will span more than 5,400 km across the Atlantic between Long Island, New York, and the West Coast of Ireland, and provide high-capacity connectivity from New York to London and beyond to greater Europe. The presentation will also examine how modern transatlantic submarine cable networks utilize innovative optical technologies to serve the bandwidth requirements of global data centers, cloud-based networks, financial services market participants and content providers seeking low latency and high reliability.
The AEConnect transatlantic fiber optic system, which is scheduled to be ‘ready for service’ in late December 2015, has more than 52 Tbps of available capacity. The 100G-compliant system will utilize the latest optical technologies to provide the most advanced subsea system, coupled with a control plane based on an SDN platform to serve bandwidth-intensive applications. Next- generation subsea cable systems such as AEConnect will provide low latency and high reliability to satisfy the capacity requirements of direct data center-to-data center and machine-to-machine connectivity across the Atlantic. Mr. Varisco will explore this subject in both his Global Cable Project Showcase and when he moderates the Project Developer Roundtable. The latter is an interactive, unstructured session allowing delegates to meet and have Q&A with leading cable project leaders. Delegates are encouraged to sign up online before the show or during morning on-site registration.
