According to the World Bank, the United States and China represent the world’s two largest economies, approximately $19 trillion and $11 trillion, respectively. Moreover, the wider Asia-Pacific region continues to be the world leader in growth, which is projected to reach 5.4 percent in 2018, in large part due to increased activity in the ICT sector.

To target new opportunities in both Asia and the United States, Aqua Comms DAC has engaged APTelecom to serve as its International Sales partner. Based in the U.S., APTelecom’s reach and expertise spans a wide range of established and emerging global markets, including several countries across Asia and the Pacific.

“We are thrilled to be a part of such an important project in one of the world’s most significant telecom markets, working within the Aqua Comms team to help extend their reach,” commented Sean Bergin, President of APTelecom and current member of the PTC Board of Governors, concerning the announcement.  “The demand for data continues to grow and this is especially true of the Atlantic.  Given its asset base, Aqua Comms has a unique value proposition and APTelecom is looking forward to supporting their sales activities with a focus on Asia and the U.S.”

Aqua Comms is the owner and operator of the subsea cable systems America Europe Connect-1 (AEC-1) and CeltixConnect-1. The company has a unique portfolio of network assets and recently joined the HAVFRUE consortium, the first new undersea cable traversing the North Atlantic to connect mainland Northern Europe to the U.S. in nearly two decades. Additionally, Aqua Comms is developing CeltixConnect-2 and North Sea Connect, bridging the Northern Atlantic between North America and Northern Europe.

“APTelecom’s relationships, reach and expertise spans a wide range of emerging and established global markets and we are pleased to engage their services as our International Sales Partner,” remarked Nigel Bayliff, CEO of Aqua Comms.  “HAVFRUE is placing the Atlantic in the spotlight again and remains a key driver as global growth in data consumption continues unabated.  APTelecom assists us by promoting our network in markets that we do not have internal sales resources.”

As their International Sales program gets underway, Aqua Comms and APTelecom will be announcing updates in the coming weeks and months.
