cquiA growing number of multinational enterprises are now choosing to connect to the cloud through networking providers that offer advanced services such as optical transport, wide area networking, and managed voice and video.

One such provider is GTT Communications, Inc. (NYSE: GTT), which was recently named by the Washington Business Journal (WBJ) as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies in the Washington, D.C. region. Based on a company’s three-year growth rate, this is the fourth time that GTT has received this recognition.

The company’s ranking and performance are the result of a focused and consistent growth strategy. GTT provides cloud networking services to multinational clients, while also extending secure network connectivity to any global location and any cloud application.

In 2017, GTT completed several key acquisitions, including Global Capacity and Hibernia Networks. This year, GTT also launched new services including DDoS mitigation, optical transport and an SD-WAN service that leverages the company’s Tier 1 Internet backbone and wide range of internet connectivity and broadband solutions.

“We are proud to be recognized as one of the region’s fastest growing companies by the Washington Business Journal,” stated Rick Calder, GTT president and CEO. “This award reflects GTT’s growing leadership in the market and the outstanding contributions of the entire GTT team as we deliver on our purpose of connecting people across organizations and around the world.”

WBJ’s Fastest Growing Companies awards were announced on October 19, at a reception in McLean, Virginia. GTT has also been recognized for other accolades in 2017, having received Stevie Awards for Company of the Year, Fastest Growing Company of the Year and Executive of the Year at the American Business Awards and International Business Awards, as well as Light Reading’s Leading Lights Award for Company of the Year.
