High-performance fiber-optic network solutions provider, FiberLight, LLC , has announced a new partnership with Carrier-1 Data Centers, one of the largest data center facilities in North Texas. Moving forward, FiberLight will deliver highly secure and reliable fiber connectivity from Carrier-1’s Dallas data center at 1515 Round Table to Infomart Dallas. At 1.6 million square feet, Infomart Dallas is one of the most connected carrier-neutral data centers in the country and a major connectivity hub for the Southern U.S.
In partnering with Carrier-1, FiberLight will provide a critical and direct fiber route to Infomart Dallas. It will also offer unlimited connectivity options for Internet service providers, and cloud and network providers that operate in the facility.
What drove the partnership? According to Carrier-1 Executive Vice President Trey Berndt, it was the need for redundancy.
“Expanding with FiberLight by adding another route to the Dallas Infomart and 100-plus network providers solidifies our commitment to maintaining 100 percent uptime,” Berndt explained. “FiberLight’s existing infrastructure allows us to easily tie Carrier-1 Data Centers to the hub of nearly all Internet providers in the Dallas market.”
The reason behind the match seems clear considering that FiberLight owns and manages over 1.6 million fiber miles in more than 44 metro areas across the United States. What’s more, FiberLight maintains over 17,000 backbone access points, 1,700 on-net locations, and a presence in nearly 100 data centers nationwide.
In Texas alone, the FiberLight network spans over 11,000 miles and services a variety of customers, including government, enterprise and communications providers.
“FiberLight has a very strong and dynamic presence in the Dallas region and our partnership with Carrier-1 reinforces our commitment to expansion in this growing market,” explained Mike Ellison, FiberLight’s Regional Vice President of Sales for Texas.
