If there is one thing that every enterprise needs today, it’s the ability to protect themselves and instantly recover from a wide variety of vulnerabilities, including infrastructure, application and human failures as well as cybersecurity attacks such as Ransomware. When, according to a recent survey by the Rand Group, 81 percent of enterprises reported that one hour of downtime cost their businesses over $300,000, and 33 percent reported that it cost their firms one to $5 million, the importance of a sound and tested Disaster Recovery solution cannot be overstated.

In order to maintain uptime in a way that is both cost and operationally efficient, many organizations are now turning to service providers offering fully managed Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) solutions. Webair, for instance, recently announced an agreement with Tech Data Corporation that makes Webair’s Off-site Backups and DRaaS solutions easily accessible to global channel partners through Tech Data’s StreamOne Enterprise Solutions cloud marketplace.

Webair, which was recently listed as a Notable Vendor in Gartner’s 2017 Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service, offers multiple tiers of DR services that enable customers to recover from system and security-related failures over its global network of recovery sites. Its services include Webair Backups-a-Service (BaaS); Backups-as-a-Service to Azure; Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service; Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service to Azure; and Ransomware Recovery-as-a-Service (RRaaS). Supported platforms include Hyper-V, VMware, physical servers and IBM Power i.

Using Webair’s RRaS and DRaaS solutions, customers can replicate their critical data and applications at any one of Webair’s global locations including Los Angeles, New York, Amsterdam and Montréal. Plus, users will be able to achieve synchronous 15-minute Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) and one-hour Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) thanks to Webair’s pre-planned, automated failover and failback between recovery and production sites. Webair’s BaaS service also provides an optional feature that allows customers to spin-up backups for on-demand DR purposes.

“Webair is excited to partner with Tech Data to provide value-added resellers, independent software vendors, managed service providers and system integrators in their cloud marketplace with easy access to our Off-site Backups and DRaaS solutions,” stated Sagi Brody, Chief Technology Officer, Webair. “As a high-touch, long-term partner, Webair lends customers and partners the confidence that it can adapt solutions to suit their evolving IT and production environments, while taking complete ownership and accountability of their disaster recovery strategy.”

Michael Urban, Tech Data Corporate Vice President, Strategy, Transformation, and Global Vendor Management, also commented on the announcement.

“The rising cost of downtime and growing threat of cyber-attacks showcase the vulnerability of today’s enterprises as well as their need for comprehensive and reliable Disaster Recovery solutions,” stated Mr. Urban, who is also responsible for the company’s global cloud strategy. “The addition of Webair’s DRaaS and Ransomware Recovery services to the StreamOne Enterprise Solutions cloud marketplace provides our resellers the opportunity to offer customers a renewed sense of confidence through DR solutions that encompass not only virtual machine replication, but also the entire production environment and network.”
