Tony Thakur has been announced as the newest member of Global Capacity’s executive leadership team. A 25-year industry veteran, Thakur, will assume the role of Chief Technology Officer for the leading connectivity as a service company, assuming responsibility for all aspects of Global Capacity’s One Marketplace™ network strategy, architecture, engineering and planning.
A longtime Ethernet champion with extensive data network engineering and operations experience, Mr. Thakur most recently held the position of Vice President of Engineering and Technology for TelePacific Communications. In that role, he provided strategic direction, technology selection and product development support for next-generation services, including IP Virtual Private Network (VPN) and Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) wide-area Ethernet. Mr. Thakur has also held various executive positions at leading network and technology companies, including Executive Vice President of Engineering and Operations at CENX and Vice President of Network Technologies and Systems for tw telecom.
