GTT Communications, Inc. (NYSE: GTT) has announced that Rick Calder, president and CEO, has received the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2016 Mid-Atlantic award. Calder won for the Technology Services category and is now eligible for consideration in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Program.
Mr. Calder was appointed president and CEO of GTT in 2007. Since then, Calder and the GTT team have driven growth from $50 million to $500 million in annualized revenue through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions. The company is on target to meet its next financial objective of $1 billion in revenue and $250 million in adjusted EBITDA. Today, GTT owns and operates a Tier 1 IP network that is ranked in the top five worldwide and provides clients with a comprehensive portfolio of cloud networking services
Recently, GTT expanded its presence in the Asia-Pacific region with the launch of a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Sydney, Australia. The new PoP is GTT’s first in Sydney and fifth in the region. GTT also has PoPs in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards gala took place at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, VA, on June 15, 2016. The National Program overall award winner, as well as winners in several categories, will be announced at the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 19, 2016. This year is the 30th anniversary of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award program, which recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in areas that include innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
