The 2019 SABRE Awards for North America named iMiller Public Relations (iMPR) as one of five finalists in its Telecommunications category. iMPR is an award-winning, global public relations and marketing firm focused on the Communications Infrastructure sector, working with innovative start-ups, medium-sized and Fortune 50 companies throughout the world.

SABRE, for those outside the Advertising & Public Relations Industry, stands for “Superior Achievement in Branding, Reputation & Engagement.” For insiders, it stands for something more personal. It represents long hours of hard work, a brilliant team and unity of purpose. When these elements come together and your work is respected, it’s a special feeling.

The 2019 SABRE Awards finalists were included in a shortlist of 300 campaigns selected from over 2000 entries. In such a fiercely competitive market, it’s truly an honor to be recognized. This year’s winners, chosen by a jury of industry leaders, were announced in an awards ceremony along with the awards for  “Agencies of the Year” and “Best Agencies to Work For.” Finalists and about 1,000 industry professionals gathered on May 7th, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York, to learn the names of the winners.

“The iMPR team is truly honored to be included as a finalist in the Telecommunications category, which this year reads like a Who’s Who,” says Ilissa Miller, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of iMiller Public Relations and President of NEDAS. “ We were up against some great contenders with a global reputation in PR beyond technology.  Being at the top of the heap with the rest of the industry leaders is a true honor.”

The 2019 SABRE Telecommunications campaigns and agency finalists were:

Porter Novelli, finalist for two campaigns in the Telecommunications category, won for its T-Mobile, Team of Experts (TEX) campaign and the fun was only getting started. Other winners included the Bulleit Group for the Trade Show category. Proctor & Gamble Ventures (PGV) debuted their skin printer first at first the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), positioning P&G Ventures as a Technology Innovator. Procter & Gamble Ventures with The Bulleit Group, and Ketchum – who had a strong team at the event and were up for various awards across multiple categories — shared a table at the award dinner with iMPR.

The Good Netizen Campaign

The iMPR campaign, the Good Netizen Awards (GNAs), was developed for IPv4.Global, an operating unit of Hilco Steambank. For those unfamiliar with iMPR, the company is led and comprised of Telecommunications Industry insiders, giving them a unique perspective on clients.

To communicate its Good Netizen Initiative, Hilco identified and subsequently celebrated those individuals and organizations who exemplify Good Netizenship in the community. In conjunction with that recognition, Hilco donated a portion of it’s IPv4 address sales commissions to charitable organizations and initiatives that embody and promote those values.

Good Netizens were recognized for their commitment to:

  • Transparency – helping people make informed, intelligent decisions
  • Multi-stakeholderism and governance models such as those used in internet governance
  • Adherence to the rules of the greater internet community
  • Using their net skills to interfere with ‘bad actors’
  • The promotion and support of access to the internet

The IPv4.Global announced the most recent winner on May 14, 2019. ShelterTech, garnering 61 percent of the votes, won the IPv4.Global Good Netizen Award (GNA) San Francisco, followed by runner-up organization, The Linux Foundation, finishing with 39 percent.

ShelterTech is a non-profit organization that is working to empower those experiencing homelessness by providing access to opportunities across the web. Solving the most significant technology issues facing underserved or disadvantaged individuals, the organization offers a range of services including ShelterConnect, which provides free WiFi access in shelters and transitional housing units.

The team at iMPR is proud to support an effort that can so significantly change the prospects of those in need. Internet access can mean communication with loved ones and a path forward for those seeking permanent housing and work. We offer our sincere congratulations to ShelterTech for their good work in the Bay Area; to IPv4.Global for their contribution to people in transition; and finally, to the winners of the 2019 SABRE Awards for North America. See you next year!
