The data center industry, like any business sector, seeks proven leaders with vision as well as track records of growth and success.
1547 Datacenters (1547) recently announced the appointment of industry veteran Jon Bonczek as its new president. Mr. Bonczek, who has a reputation for successfully leading top sales companies in the retail colocation data center industry, will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of 1547’s retail colocation business, as well as the communication, creation and implementation of the organization’s mission, vision and strategy. He will also maintain control over the company’s product mix, marketing strategy and pricing matrices.
“We are very excited to add someone of John’s caliber to our leadership team at a time of growth and expansion for our company,” said J. Todd Raymond, CEO and Managing Director, 1547 Datacenters. “An industry veteran with a wealth of expertise in developing complex sales organizations with a focus on excellent service delivery, John is a critical asset to our company as we continue to invest in the rapidly-growing retail data center market across our platform.”
Mr. Raymond also spoke about his past experience working with Mr. Bonczek.
“Having worked with John for many years at Telx, I know his experience and proven track record of success will significantly increase our ability to deliver a quality product set, while maintaining exceptional customer service as we continue to grow the business across multiple geographies,” Mr. Raymond added.
Before joining 1547, Mr. Bonczek served as VP at Digital Realty Trust/Telx for 14 years where he constructed one of the most successful sales teams in the entire industry. In his early years at Telx, he created the sales engineering group to offer first-class service delivery and customer support.
Mr. Bonczek received his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University, where he continued in the Stillman School of Business and received his Master in Business Administration certificate.
“I am thrilled to be joining the seasoned executive team at 1547,” commented Mr. Bonczek. “The explosive surge of content propelled by growth of video, gaming, the Internet of Things, and driverless cars continues to drive data center and distribution demand. I look forward to leveraging 1547’s existing colocation and data center facilities — as well as new planned markets — to satisfy this growing demand and bring 1547 to a new level of success.”
