FiberLight LogoIndustry-leading provider of high- performance fiber optic network solutions, FiberLight, LLC, announced this week that it is nearing the completion of its Texas expansion project — enhancing wireless capabilities for four major wireless carriers and connecting fourth- and fifth-tier markets to FiberLight’s existing Dallas and Houston markets through Ethernet backhaul technology.

FiberLight will also deploy its Layer I DWDM and Layer II network across West Texas by the beginning of 2015, connecting Abilene, Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa and every smaller town in between to each other and to the state’s traditional metro hubs.  This expansion includes enabling Texas’ fast-growing rural communities (which were previously underserved) to connect across the state with high-speed Internet.  At the end of 2014, the company will connect nearly 800 cell towers across Texas and install 1,765 route miles of new fiber networks.

This announcement follows FiberLight’s previous Texas expansion efforts including installations into two highly acclaimed disaster recovery facilities and backhaul redundancy Points of Presence (PoPs) in the Central Texas region: Austin’s Data Foundry and Bryan’s FIBERTOWN data centers.  With best-in-class Ethernet backhaul services and a fiber-rich network, FiberLight’s Texas expansion will have the ability to successfully cater to the data transport needs of all industries across the state.

Overall, FiberLight’s efforts in Texas are enabling towns and local service providers to meet the demand for access and level of service both businesses and consumers receive in larger markets.
