Throughout 2017, it’s become abundantly clear that Ransomware attacks are still dominating the world of cybersecurity. Not only have we witnessed more attacks on businesses demanding more money, the level of sophistication in distribution methods and attack vectors have expanded as well. To gain greater piece of mind, many enterprises are now seeking advanced protection from third-party providers in the form of Ransomware and disaster recovery solutions.

Webair and PacketFabric, for instance, recently announced the availability of Webair’s Ransomware Recovery as-a-Service (RRaaS) and Compliance Cloud solutions across all 130-plus nodes on PacketFabric’s SDN-based network. Using PacketFabric’s any-to-any mesh network, which extends across North America, Webair customers can now utilize automatic application failover during a Ransomware attack or disaster. This partnership enables uninterrupted service and business continuity for customers.

PacketFabric has also deployed its SDN node at Webair’s NY1 data center, so that local tenants can access its platform as well.

What’s more, Webair can now provide automated increases in connectivity and bandwidth when failover events are detected. Customers have the option to replicate applications and data at any of Webair’s international locations including Los Angeles, New York, Montréal and Amsterdam. Using pre-planned, automated failover and failback between recovery and production sites, users can achieve synchronous Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) of seconds.

“Effective Ransomware and disaster recovery solutions are less about data replication and more about network agility and automation so that failover is seamless, requiring little to no manual intervention,” stated Sagi Brody, Chief Technology Officer, Webair. “As the threat of cyberattacks continues to grow, we are very excited to partner with PacketFabric to extend our recovery services nationwide, bringing peace of mind to enterprises across North America by leveraging private and secure interconnections.”

PacketFabric’s mission is to automate and simplify all parts of network service consumption and to deliver scalable connectivity at a lower cost and with better flexibility. Its platform combines an innovative any-to-any mesh architecture with an advanced API and Web-based portal, reshaping the way that customers employ connectivity.

“As one of the most secure and redundant data centers east of Manhattan with expansive managed services offerings, Webair’s NY1 facility was a strategic location to further expand the PacketFabric network,” said William Charnock, CEO, PacketFabric, about the announcement. “We are excited to partner with Webair and extend their reach across North America through our platform, as well as enabling effective recovery solutions in the PacketFabric ecosystem through access to Webair’s RRaaS and Compliance Cloud services.”

Webair was recently listed as a Notable Vendor in Gartner’s 2017 Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service. The company takes full responsibility and ownership of customer implementations including physical infrastructure deployments, network connectivity and recovery capabilities, functioning as a high-touch technology partner.
