PTI Conducts Successful 4G nanoLTE Bubble Demo Working with SES and O3B

RESTON, VA, 25 April 2016 — Global satellite fleet operator SES Government Solutions (SES GS) transmitted live video over a 4G nanoLTE bubble powered by Persistent Telecom and an O3b satellite system for U.S. Government customers during a demonstration earlier this month. This roaming service model allows users to stream live video and data from the field to remote commanders in real time. This technology is enabled by O3b’s high throughput Medium Earth Orbit satellites and their low latency features. “The U.S. Government can now integrate smartphones into remote field operations and create a mobile workforce without facing any delays in communication,” said President and CEO of SES GS, Pete Hoene. “We are proud to be poised and ready to support a global, mobile network for our customers with this capability.” During the demonstration, U.S. Government customers were able to use mobile phones and tablets outside of Wi-Fi range and transport real time video through the PTI LTE bubble and stream the footage without delay back to a cloud server located in Ashburn, VA. This setup allows for high bandwidth and broadband IP communications which include standard and high definition (HD) video, ultra HD video, voice and teleconferencing. This mission-critical technology is compatible with any standard smartphone and paves the way for an increased use of mobile devices for the warfighter. In essence each soldier, sailor, airman and marine...

As such, we have teamed with ADRF to equip buildings with Bi-Directional RF Amplifiers and other equipment necessary for preventing in-building wireless signal disruption.” By offering a Fire/Life Safety code-compliant RF platform to support VHF, UHF, 700MHz and...

The Benefits of Working with a Managed Network Security Provider

Originally posted on Windstream Business™ by Jeremy Story We know. Placing your network security responsibilities in the hands of a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) may put you outside of your comfort zone—but most likely, not for long. Our experience is that any hesitancy giving up some hands-on, day-to-day oversight of network security to a third-party provider is quickly overcome when companies realize the benefits of working with a trusted, reliable MSSP.  In fact, an increasingly diverse and sophisticated threatscape and emerging cloud computing, social media, mobile enablement and other technology trends only compound security challenges for IT departments already stretched thin. In a recent study by International Data Corporation (IDC) and sponsored by Windstream, “You Will Be Breached: How Much Will It Set Back Your Business?”, the majority of respondents revealed they have higher confidence in third-party providers than in their own internal IT departments when it comes to dealing with the rapidly changing security landscape and the technology needed to counter evolving threats.
