Will the Real Tim Cook Please Stand Up?

TimCookIT managers from New York to Silicon Valley are all asking the same question: would the real Tim Cook please stand up?  You might be asking the same thing.  So let’s take a look at these two men and make some comparisons to find out who is who.

On one coast, there is Tim Cook, Chief Executive Officer at BlueOSS in Annapolis, MD.  Cook resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area and is currently the overseer of BlueOSS’ strategy and vision.  He spends the majority of his time influencing telecommunications companies on the ins-and-outs of the Cloud economy, the benefits of subscription-based billing models as well as Software-as-a-Service.  On the other coast, there is his ‘dopplenamer’, Tim Cook, Business Executive and CEO of Apple, Inc. and successor of the late Steve Jobs (sans the white beard and classic black turtleneck).

Cloud Service Providers: The Subscription Economy is OVER; The Pay-as-You-Go Economy is HERE

BOSSlogo“The first wave of cloud services adoption focused on improving the efficiency of the IT department,” said Frank Gens, Senior Vice President and Chief Analyst at IDC. “Over the next several years, the primary driver for cloud adoption will shift from economics to innovation.”

Service providers that support the next wave of cloud innovation must analyze their current subscription platforms to bill cloud services.  It is time to determine whether these platforms are capable of taking them into the Pay-as-you-Go (PayGo) economy.  Simply put, “subscription billing” is not, and will not, be sufficient enough to bill complex innovations developed from combining cloud services from multiple providers on a measured, PayGo pricing/billing plan.

BlueOSS Launches Fourth-Generation Cloud Innovation Suite at ITEXPO Miami – Further Enabling VARs to Become Service Providers

Last week, BlueOSS announced the launch of its fourth-generation Cloud Innovation Suite (CIS) at ITEXPO in Miami, fortifying its carrier-grade, cloud telecom billing/OSS system for Unified Communication-as-a-Service (UCaaS).

Targeting cloud providers, the company’s latest CIS provides the ability to build a scalable, repeatable model for growth, enhanced efficiency and improved profitability.  The BlueOSS CIS enables providers to take the complexity out of billing by streamlining and simplifying the process to yield improved customers service and satisfaction.  By providing automation, commissioning and creating a customized marketplace for integrated, diverse cloud solutions and bundled product packages, the BlueOSS CIS enables VARs to become service providers, delivering the support they need and enabling them to sell telecom/cloud services and capitalize on previously untapped revenue streams.

BlueOSS CEO Tim Cook discusses how VARs can become service providers during the ITEXPO panel, “Building a Managed Service Business”.

The new CIS also features an enhanced, easy-to-use, self-serve customer portal that allows customers to create custom reports, pay invoices, accept payments online and order products within seconds.  Furthermore, the new system captures critical data – leveraging business intelligence tools and providing end-to-end visibility across the provider, channel and customer.  This intelligence and transparency enables customers to identify new revenue opportunities, make better business decisions and improve bottom-line profit.

BlueOSS’ next-generation cloud telecom billing system for UCaaS has been refined for approximately 12 years, culminating its evolution as a fully automated platform that easily integrates with current infrastructures and offers customers the competitive edge they need to efficiently deploy new services, capture a greater percentage of IT budgets and compete at any level of the distribution scale.

BlueOSS CEO Tim Cook sits down with TMCnet’s Peter Bernstein to talk about the launch at ITEXPO.
